Loving Shepherd Early Learning Center (LSELC) is a non-profit
program operated by Golden Valley Lutheran Church. Experts
in early childhood development indicate that children
learn best through self discovery and creative exploration.
Experts also maintain that a child's family provides
the primary source of love and care to the child. We
consider all these details in creating an exciting,
nurturing, and supportive environment that helps each
individual child and his/her family develop and grow
in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are proud
of our team and the high quality care they deliver.
We hire only the most qualified talent as our entire
staff has an educational background and work experience
that either meets or exceeds the Minnesota Department
of Human Services licensing regulations. Our staff members
continue their professional development through classes
and workshops to bring new interests and skills back
to the center.
LSELC is accredited through National Lutheran School Accreditation. NSLA has an outstanding process for the evaluation, improvement, and recognition of schools at all levels. More information can be found at their web site, School Accreditations (NLSA)
We are licensed
by the State to provide both full-and part-time care
to children at any one time, Monday through Friday from

For children ages 6 weeks old – 16months. Our

Our
staff includes a full-time cook who prepares delicious
and nutritious meals and snacks each day for all children
over 12 months of age. For children under 12 months
of age, parents must provide either formula or breast
milk, while we provide baby food and cereal. Whole milk
is provided for infants over 12 months of age. Menus
are distributed monthly and are also posted at the center.
Special dietary needs such as allergies or dietary preferences
can be accommodated. All of our meals and snacks meet
the state's nutritional requirements.
Our curriculum
has spiritual, social, physical, emotional, and intellectual
objectives. Our classrooms are designed and arranged
to foster and support age-appropriate learning opportunities
while respecting each child's individual learning style
and personality. Our teachers also place a significant
emphasis on frequent and effective teacher-parent communication.
We provide daily written reports, daily verbal feedback,
parent-teacher conferences, monthly newsletters, parent
meetings, and many family events. Parents are also encouraged
to visit the classrooms at any time and are invited
to participate in their child's activities.
We welcome
children and families of any race, color, religion,
national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges,
programs and activities of our center. To enroll in
our program, a meeting with the Director is required,
along with a registration form and a $45.00 non-refundable
registration fee.
